What this is

Best Cat Games is an independent magazine about cozy mobile games involving animals. It exists because the genre is badly served: most coverage is either a thirty-second video or an app-store description with adjectives added.

Two writers publish here. Both use pen names — a normal arrangement in games writing, and one we prefer to state plainly rather than dress up with stock photos and invented CVs.

How we test

Minimum two weeks with a game before a review goes out, on a free account, with no review codes and no early builds. If we spend money in a game we say how much and on what.

We replay covered games before major roundups. A game that was generous in 2024 is not automatically generous now, and a game that launched with an aggressive economy sometimes fixes it.

Every review names at least one real problem. If we cannot find one, the review is not finished.

Corrections

We get things wrong. When we do, we fix the text and say what changed at the bottom of the article rather than editing quietly.
